What Role Does a Prechool Teacher Play in the Life of Kids

In the crash of 2008, USA decided that shifting the blame on teachers could solve all of their problems. While it sounds counter-intuitive at nine different levels, one does wonder about the role of a teacher at a macroscopic level. No one but the most ignorant will argue that teachers are the most undervalued in our society. The role of a teacher in the life of a preschool child becomes compounded due to the impressionable nature of the brain.

Need of teachers in formative years

Neuroscientists concede that the formation years are fundamental to education and basic pursuit of knowledge. So it is natural then that this is the time when the child needs the best quality of education. This is also the time when their reasoning faculty is still evolving and hence they need to be told why they are doing something.

Often teachers tell their students about certain latent talents that they have that they hone for the remainder for their life. They help bring out a part of them that they never could have unleashed had it not been for the teacher’s insight. At this age, children are more likely to tell their teacher about their personal issues or about some insecurity they have. A well-equipped teacher will sometimes be able to handle the situation better due to a personal distance.

While teachers are expected to take all of the blame if something happens to the students, they get none of the credit. A part of understanding the role of teachers in the life of children is accepting that a stranger can sometimes handle our own. They reason better because they have done it with many children.

Fundamental role of teacher

For many reasons, teachers play a fundamental role in what a person is to become. There are many preschools that have been specially structured just to cater to the needs of the child. For example, a model for future teachers should be a pre nursery school in Singapore. In terms of childcare services in Asia, Singapore is ahead in a multitude of ways. In fact, the individual attention given to each student in any pre nursery school in Singapore is far more commendable than in much of Asia. So, as unconventional thinkers and leaders, it isn’t too much of a stretch for teachers to take from the best and improve upon that.
